Date: June 12 – 16, 2017 (Monday to Friday)

Time: 9 am to 3 pm with a lunch break (bring your own lunch)

Cost: $100 for the week (or partial week) with most of the proceeds going to The Christian Community.

Location: The Christian Community, 5050 Hastings St., Burnaby BC

Marilyn will lead us early each morning with “Par Play” — movement exercises to open new brain pathways in order to overcome old habits in our movement, thought and soul life. We will continue with exercises to warm up the voice. After a coffee break we will do some unison singing, improvising on modes and solfeg as well as learning some songs in parts. After lunch we will continue the morning work and sing songs with movement as well as sing a variety of harmonies together. This schedule is subject to change. If there is interest we can share some of our work with the congregation.

Marilyn Lange has an ARCT from the Royal Conservatory in Toronto and she has trained as a Waldorf music teacher at Sunbridge College in NY. She has taken courses and worked with the Werbeck exercises developed by Valborg Werbeck-Svardstrom for uncovering the voice.(Rudolf Steiner affirmed Werbeck’s discoveries and encouraged her work). Marilyn has taken courses with Michael Deason-Barrow for helping those with voice challenges. She has mentored music teachers at two Waldorf schools and accompanied Eurythmy classes. Since 2014 she has made 5 trips to China to mentor Waldorf kindergarten and grade school teachers. Marilyn now resides in Duncan BC where she has given private lessons for piano, recorder and lyre.
