{"id":1907,"date":"2015-10-16T08:20:00","date_gmt":"2015-10-16T12:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.asc.wdtest.info\/en\/2015\/10\/16\/treasurers-letter\/"},"modified":"2025-04-08T21:33:45","modified_gmt":"2025-04-09T01:33:45","slug":"treasurers-letter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anthroposophy.ca\/en\/treasurers-letter\/","title":{"rendered":"Treasurer&#8217;s Letter"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">Dear Friends,<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">A very warm greeting to everyone!<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">There were a few events that occurred since the AGM that council would like to communicate.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">We received a letter from the Canada Revenue Agency requesting that the Rudolf Steiner Foundation be dissolved unless we plan to make it active.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>As there is no such plan, Council decided to dissolve it.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>You can see the related correspondence on the members\u2019 web site, or ask Jef Saunders, our Administrator.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">The review engagement with our accountant went smoothly and the questions and responses, along with the final Financial Statements, can be found on the members\u2019 website.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">We have been successfully using e-transfers to pay requests for funds and this approach appears to be the way many members\u2019 prefer.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>We are also offering this method for donations and contributions.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>Simply fill out, scan and email the membership card, along with the answer to your security question, then send the e-transfer to Jef.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>If this method proves to be a preference for members, we might cancel the Canada Helps service next year, which has caused some issues of confusion.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">Requests for funding have increased for important work by members, and council is finding it challenging to meet all the requests, while still holding to the approved budget.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>Your extra donations towards the various funds provide for important activities of our Society and are greatly appreciated.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>Please consider an extra donation if possible even if you have made your planned contribution.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>If you have not made your contribution and donation for this year, please do so soon to help make it unnecessary for Jef and Council to make reminders.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>Please contact Jef if you need to make special arrangements and we thank you for your support.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">Warm regards,<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">Douglas Wylie<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">Treasurer<\/span><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Friends, A very warm greeting to everyone!
