{"id":6051,"date":"2020-06-16T09:40:58","date_gmt":"2020-06-16T13:40:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anthroposophy.ca\/?p=6051"},"modified":"2020-07-01T10:46:07","modified_gmt":"2020-07-01T14:46:07","slug":"pentecost-may-31st-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anthroposophy.ca\/en\/pentecost-may-31st-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"PENTECOST May 31st, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Today I boast no tongue of flame,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">can only hold hope<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">deep in my heart<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">as the import of the world\u2019s travail<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">threatens to destroy so much.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">So much.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But listen! I hear an unseen voice,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">a whisper in the air\u2026.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201cNever despair!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Keep on with your spiritual work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Try and try again.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Be as thoughtful, as kind as you can<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">to your fellow human beings<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">even, perhaps, stretch out a hand?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">-metaphorically of course.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And while we\u2019re at it,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">why not<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">seize the opportunity<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">to break a bad habit,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">to do better about<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">resisting the lure<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">of the virtual world?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">You know it saps<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">our nourishment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Also, don\u2019t neglect, or forget<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">our Mother Earth,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">who pauses in her breathing<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">as the Solstice draws near,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">waiting to discover<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">how you\u2019ll shape the world,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">how you\u2019ll treat her<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and her creatures<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">once this travail is past.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Brenda Hammond<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today I boast no tongue of flame, can only hold hope deep in my heart as the import of the world\u2019s travail threatens to destroy so much.
