Becoming a Member

We welcome your interest in becoming a member of the Anthroposophical Society in Canada. The Society aims “to further the life of the soul, both in the individual and in human society on the basis of a true knowledge of the spiritual world.” This nurturing of the soul finds its greatest possibility for development in relationship with others. The only condition for joining is that you acknowledge the value of Rudolf Steiner’s founding work to establish anthroposophy in the world.

By joining the Anthroposophical Society, you are becoming part of a network of some 50,000 people worldwide and show your support for the further development of anthroposophy and its practical applications. These applications are represented on this web site under “Initiatives” and cover, but are not limited to: education, farming, medical practices, and special needs communities. Worldwide about 10,000 institutions base their work on anthroposophy. In Canada, there are many ways to become involved; through Branches and groups, initiatives, conferences, courses, research/study groups.

Becoming a member in Canada, includes membership to the General Anthroposophical Society based at the Goetheanum in Switzerland. Members receive regular newsletters, in electronic or print format from the Canadian Society, as well as Anthroposophy Worldwide from the Goetheanum.

The Canadian Society depends on the financial support of members and friends to carry out its work supporting the activities of members and groups within Canada, as well as the work of the General Society at the Goetheanum.
