This final performance will be our farewell to an initiative with which we have lived and grown for three years now. The event will unfold over the course of a full day, roughly from 9:00am to 5:00pm. There will be two breaks and a lunch. The day will be given over entirely to the performance: there will not be sufficient time (or energy!) for lectures or other activities.
This is truly a community event, with broad participation from so many people. The number of volunteers directly involved in the mystery drama performance – director, actors, eurythmists, voice artists, lighting specialist, set designer, costume designer – comes to twenty-six. But that doesn’t take into account the many others who assist us with producing programs, flyers, billeting, photography, teaching the children their song for the prelude, coordinating transportation for out of town lecturer and workshop leader…
This performance will bring to a close our humble efforts to incarnate the being of the Portal of Initiation. What an honour it has been for Magi Nadelle (our director) and I to work alongside this amazing, dedicated troupe. What a mixture of joy and sadness we will all experience as we bid farewell to this masterpiece of Rudolf Steiner’s creative vision.
