Our aspiration for this weekend conference is to cultivate a living experience of the Ahrimanic and Luciferic polarities and the balancing principle, the Christ being.  Over the course of the weekend, we will perform the entire Portal of Initiation.  During the drama, Lucifer and Ahriman appear on stage on three separate occasions and two characters recount their encounters with the Christ.  An encounter with the dramatic representation of these beings in the mystery dramas is always powerful!  Last year, after witnessing Ahriman in eurythmy and hearing him in voice, an audience member confided that for the first time she had come to grasp the nature of Ahrimanic temptation.

Over the course of the conference, participants will engage in artistic workshops designed to facilitate an experience of Luciferic and Ahrimanic forces and the struggle to achieve balance.  And you won’t need to choose between workshops: the agenda allows for all conference participants to experience all of the workshops.  Here are our artistic workshop leaders, all of them consummate professionals with many years of experience:

And, of course, it wouldn’t be an anthroposophical conference without lectures!  This year, we have three captivating speakers taking up this weighty theme.  Daniel Hafner will lecture on the Portal of Initiation before each performance segment, emphasizing what we experience in the drama of Lucifer, Ahriman and the Christ.  Jonah Evans will speak about Lucifer, Ahriman and Christ in our lives.  And Dr. Kenneth McAlister’s address speak to our theme through a talk entitled, “The Soul-Searing Challenges of Illness”.
