President’s Letter – December

President’s Letter – December

Thank-you to Judy King

In December 2016, Judy King will finish her term as Council member. (See Judy’s letter below).

Judy’s strong, steady presence, her knowledge about the Society, her clear thinking, good humor, and immediate willingness to serve, will be missed.

For 5 years Judy served the Society in the position of Secretary. Her accurate, organized, and detailed minutes made our job on council much easier.

Two moments stand out for me during the time Judy and I worked together on Council. The first was her organization of the Council’s visit to the Maritimes in October 2014. No stone was left unturned. From a geological excursion with Duncan Keppie, to accommodation on a biodynamic farm, to meeting with friends and members at the South Shore Waldorf School and in Dartmouth; each occasion provided the opportunity for us to meet, exchange ideas, and experience anthroposophy living on the East coast.

The second moment was in the summer of 2015, when the Council had decided to move the library from the basement in Hesperus to a smaller space. Judy announced she would come to Thornhill and help. She stepped in, willingly, where she was needed, and I so appreciate this quality in her.

Judy, a heartfelt thanks goes out to you, from your colleagues, and from the members in the Society. You will be missed! We wish you good luck in your travels and future projects.
